How is VuYou different?
When you record a video using VuYou, you record live to the server and therefore do not need to wait for uploading, so when you have finished recording then all you need to do is add the recipients email address and the video is good to go! With our system you can record live or upload a video from your PC and either send it as a video email or send it to your blog, the choice is yours.

What is Vu-Mail?
This is your video email platform where you can compose and receive video emails.
What is Vu-Blog?
This is your Video Blog page where you can change your profile, upload videos, create video podcasts, and change your settings.
I have not received my verification email?
Some spam filters will filter out emails from new senders, so please look in your spam folder to see if it is there. It would be advisable to add the email address: videomail@vuyou.com to your approved senders list in your email preference settings if you can.
When I first tried to record a video email, a box popped up in the middle of the screen, what is this?
This is a Flash component that is asking for access to your webcam, this is perfectly natural. Please remember to click “allow” and “remember” when this box appears.

I cannot see myself in the video recorder when trying to record a message?
You will need to ensure that your PC is set to the correct webcam setting. All you need to do is, allow any video to play, this can be the home page video or your “welcome” video that you should have in your inbox . Next, follow steps below: 1) Pause the video while it is playing. 2) Right click in the video screen, then a drop down menu appears, click on "settings". 3) This will bring up a box within the player, click on the 2nd tab, then click on "allow" and “remember”. 4) While you are there, it would be a good idea to click on the 4th and 5th tabs to ensure your webcam and microphone are selected.

I cannot hear myself when reviewing my video message.
All you need to do is, allow any video to play, this can be the home page video or your “welcome” video that you should have in your inbox . Next, follow the steps below: 1) Pause the video while it is playing. 2) Right click in the video screen, then a drop down menu appears, click on "settings". 3) This will bring up a box within the player, click on the 4th tab, and ensure you have selected your microphone from the list.

Why do I see the home page video in a language or dialect that is not my own?
It may well be that you have your Internet browser is set to a language that is not your language, for example, if you are in the UK and you have your Internet browser set on English/American (en-US) then you will get the American presentation video on the home page, you will need to change it to en-GB or if you are in Australia then you language should be en-AU and so on. This can be done by clicking on the “tools” tab within your Internet browser, then choose “ Internet options” from the drop down menu. You should now see a number of tabs in the new box that opens, click on the first tab, (General) then at the bottom of this page you will see the “Language” tab, this is where you can select the language of your choice.
What happens when I set my Blog to “private”?
When you uncheck the “make my blog public” option, your blog now becomes private and you will notice a new tab appear named “subscriptions”; you will need to add the people you want to view your blog to the subscription list, this way only those that you want to see your blog, can!
How do I find out the web address of my blog page?
Simple, all you need to do is to go to your “Vu-blog” page and there you will see towards the top right hand of the page a tab that says “your blog URL” this is the web address of your blog. You can copy the URL and send it to friends and family.

How do I make a video within my blog podcastable?
Go to your Vu-Blog page, and select the “videos” tab. All you need to do now is to click on the Podcast on the right hand side of the video that you wish to make podcastable.
What happens when a video is made podcastable?
This means that the video can now be downloaded to a MPG4 format for downloading to an i-pod or similar player.
How can I increase the quality of my video recording?
Much depends on the quality of your webcam, but ensuring good light, preferably having the light shining at you, rather than behind you, will increase the overall quality.
What video player does VuYou use?
We use adobe FLASH player. If you do not have FLASH enabled on your pc or mac you can download direct from Adobe themselves at: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/
What is the minimum specification for using the VuYou platform?
The minimum specification speed for using our application is a upload speed of 150 kbps and a download speed of 100 kbps, if you wish to see your computer upload and download speed we suggest that you visit www.speedtest.net a speed test and choose the nearest server to where you live.
Is there any limit to the amount of video views I receive?
No. Your video emails and blogs can receive as many views as you like!
Is there a limit to the amount of video storage I have?
Yes, there is a limit to the amount of videos you store on your account. You will see this in your “account status” bar at the top of each page. We have put this as “storage in minutes” as storage in mega bytes would not give most people an indication as to the amount of storage left in your account.
What should I do if my storage status has reached its limit?
The amount of storage for each account is generous, so if you should reach your limit then at this stage you should clear out viewed video emails, or unwanted podcast & archived videos.
Does VuYou.com intend to charge users at a future date?
No. VuYou.com does not intend to charge users for using our streaming products as the service is supported by our sponsors, so please visit our sponsors’ links from time to time.
How do I add a video clip to my own personal website?
All you need to do is to click on any video in either your blog or someone else’s and you will see a “View content” box to the right of the video player, just copy the html code (for example http://www.vuyou.com/video/Id=32345465455465) and embed into the html page of your website.
How do I import contacts from Microsoft Outlook?
Within Outlook, click on "File" then "Import and Export...", select "Export to a file" and click "Next >". On the next screen, select "Comma separated values (Windows)" and click "Next >". Accept the default folder of "Contacts" and click "Next >". Click "Browse", select a known location (such as your Desktop), enter a filename (such as "contacts"), click "Next >" and then "Finish". Within VuYou, select "Contacts" from the left-hand menu then click on the "Import Contacts" button. Use the "Browse..." button, locate and select the exported contacts file and click "Open". Click "Import Now" and your contacts will be automatically imported.
